Hyderabad: Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister and BRS Founder Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana is witnessing a historic change underpinned by the principles of ‘Social Justice’ and ‘Social Democracy’ set forth by Babasaheb BR Ambedkar.

Dr. BR Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution declared, “Political democracy cannot last unless it is based on social democracy.” What is social democracy? In Baba Saheb’s own words, Social Democracy meant a way of life that considered liberty, equality, and fraternity as indispensable characteristics.

Babasaheb’s thoughts

If we take Babasaheb’s thought and work a step further, social democracy is integral to the achievement of social justice, which he has been passionately advocating throughout his life. How committed are Indian lawmakers and politicians to BR Ambedkar’s ideals? How determined are the Indian central government and Bangsarkar to make Ambedkar’s vision a reality?

Unfortunately, even a cursory look at Indian politics since independence would point out that not many parties or politicians really care about Ambedkar’s ideals. They are more interested in winning votes in Ambedkar’s name than implementing his ideas in governance.

It has taken nearly six decades for leaders like K Chandrashekhar Rao to bring Ambedkar’s ideals to life and demonstrate how Babasaheb’s social justice ideology can bring about progressive and positive change in people’s lives.

From a region once known for perennial drought, poor land, oppression, labor migration, farmer suicides, civil strife, cultural and political inferiority to one of the best performing states in terms of governance, development and welfare, Telangana Truly a witness to the political and governance miracles under Rao.

change life

According to the Reserve Bank of India, Telangana is the sixth fastest growing state in India as its Gross Domestic Product (GSDP) grew from Rs 35.9 trillion in FY12 to Rs 610 trillion in FY21 rupee. The annual budget of Telangana has increased from Rs 6000 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 3 trillion in 2022-23. Likewise, Telangana’s per capita income will increase from Rs 1,12,162 in 2013-14 to Rs 3,17,115 in 2022-23. This is 86% higher than the national per capita income of Rs 1,70,620.

These financial figures undoubtedly testify to the unprecedented development of the youngest country. But beyond the economic indicators, positive changes are taking place in the lives of the people of Telangana, and the transformation of the social, political and cultural landscape highlights how the Chief Minister has turned Telangana into a blueprint (role model) for BR Ambedkar’s social justice ideology and shaping social democracy.

Social justice in India is defined as the principle that all people should have the same rights, opportunities and resources regardless of gender, class, caste, religion and other social categories. It involves ensuring equal rights and protections for all citizens, eliminating discrimination based on any of these factors, and providing equal opportunities for all to fulfill their potential. Social justice also includes striving for economic justice, environmental rights and workplace equality.

As the Chief Minister of Telangana, he has worked tirelessly in his governance to ensure that social justice in the state is guaranteed. The welfare schemes he introduced like increase of old pension to Rs 2,016, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, Rythu Bandhu, Dalit Bandhu, KCR Kits, SC, ST, BC and residential gurukuls for minority students have played a significant role in alleviating Poverty and socioeconomic empowerment in various parts of Telangana.

If we think about it carefully, these are not populist programs introduced for political reasons, but rather economic interventions aimed at alleviating the burden of poverty for vulnerable groups and enabling them to be part of economic activity by providing them with spending power and overall empowerment.

Even initiatives such as distributing sheep and cattle to Yadava communities and supporting fishermen communities by distributing free fish fry and mopeds, despite being ridiculed by short-sighted opponents, have led to increases in per capita income and wealth creation in these communities. The Telangana government built Aathma Gourava Bhavans helped increase the self-esteem of marginalized groups.

lend a helping hand

Infrastructure development initiatives such as Kaleshwaram, the world’s largest water pumping irrigation project, providing potable water to every household through Mission Bhagiratha, restoration of water tanks through Mission Kakatiya, Haritha Haram for ecological balance, T-Hub, T-Works, strengthening sea De La Ba’s infrastructure, subsidized loans to SC, ST, BC and ethnic minorities are all aimed at the healthy development of society and involve all aspects of people’s lives.

Inspired by the life of BR Ambedkar, the Chief Minister has launched Overseas Scholarships for students from oppressed regions to study abroad. A leader who understood the importance of education for the liberation and empowerment of the oppressed, he vigorously established and promoted residential gurukuls in Telangana. The fact that there are more than 1,000 residential gurukuls and 600,000 students studying in them is a testament to his commitment to improving education and growth opportunities for the underprivileged.

An important aspect of Rao’s administration is that he crafted policies to ensure that every sector and even every household benefited from government spending.

Rao now starts the business of farmers who make up over 70% of our population and the foundation of our economy, but are always disappointed by the insensitive government. With the unique slogan “Ab ki baar kisan sarkar”, he undertook a difficult task of expanding BRS across the country with the motive of introducing a farmer friendly government at the center and implementing the most effective Telangana development model. Through Accepting the harsh rule of Modisarkar, he is becoming the modern Ambedkar of 21st century India.

So why are his critics so vehemently against his every move that they can’t even digest the 125ft Ambedkar statue and the building of the splendid new BR Ambedkar State Secretariat named after the legendary leader? Because instead of them paying lip service or doing “statue politics”, Rao is working seriously and constructively for the empowerment of SC, ST, BC, minorities and marginalized groups. The Telangana development model based on Ambedkar’s principles of social justice has been well documented so far.

And now, when he can’t wait to roll out this Telangana model of social justice and social democracy in India, these hypocritical netas are naturally concerned about their false pretense in the face of Rao’s Ambedkar ideal-driven politics And the false propaganda will fall apart.

A true champion of Ambedkarism, Rao is determined to bring about permanent change in political and social life in India, as Babasaheb ardently wishes, and the Telangana development and governance model is only a first step in this direction, and a firm one. step.
