Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lowered the flag via video link to the Vande Bharat Express train linking Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam from New Delhi on Sunday.
This is the eighth Vande Bharat Express train launched by Indian Railways and the first for Telangana.
It is touted as a modern train linking the two Telugu states and major cities of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Vande Bharat Express train linking Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam will cover a distance of about 700 km.
The trains will stop at Visakhapatnam, Rajamundry and Vijayawada stations in Andhra Pradesh and Kaman, Warangal and Secunderabad stations in Telangana.
The self-designed Vande Bharat Express trainsets are equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities and safety features. It aims to provide railway users with a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience.
Governor of Telangana State Tamilisai Soundarrajan, Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Tourism G.Kishan Reddy and other dignitaries attended.
