Jal Shakti Abhiyan Chief Node Officer K Manica Raj at Jangaon’s Collectors Conference on Friday
Zhan Gang: Appreciating the state government’s efforts and success in improving the groundwater level in the Jangaon region, a central team of Jal Shakti Abhiyan led by K Manicka Raj, Chief Node Officer at Jal Shakti Abhiyan expressed appreciation for the progress made in raising the groundwater level Satisfied with the water table.
During the visit, the group inspected various initiatives implemented in the area including farm ponds, ponds, inspection dams, diversion of stormwater from government buildings to sumps, infiltration tanks, Amrit Sarovara scheme, water based agriculture, horticulture, drip irrigation Irrigation and water management systems.
District collector Ch Shivalingaiah and additional collector Praful Desai, who hosted the team, briefed them on measures being taken to increase water resources.
Manica Raju, joint secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), urged officials to use the schemes effectively to raise water tables for the benefit of farmers. DRDO PD Ram Reddy, DAO Vinod Kumar, Gardening Officer Latha and other officials accompanied the team on the field trip.
