Mumbai: Actress Preity Zinta took to Instagram to share a photo of her children, Jai Zinta Goodenough and Gia Zinta Goodenough, after the mundane ceremony. In her caption, she describes the ritual and its importance to Hindu tradition.
“So the ‘secular ritual’ finally took place this weekend. For Hindus, shaving a baby for the first time is considered a gesture of purifying past life memories and letting go of the past. It’s the mundane ritual Jai and Gia posted. #tradition #mundanceremony #ting,” she wrote in the caption.
After the post was published, many fans and industry friends congratulated her. Actor Bobby Deol also dropped the heart emoji.

Earlier, during a break in the IPL, Preity shared a video of her baby Jai on holiday with her husband and children. “My paradise. The past few days have been amazing. Mountains, family, clean air and digital detox. There is no better sound than hearing…moms…kids are first time moms. It’s true It’s heaven #ting…,” Preity wrote in the caption.
Preity and Gene Goodenough tied the knot on February 29, 2016 in Los Angeles. The pair gave birth to twins in 2021.
Announcing her baby via surrogacy in 2021, Preity wrote: “Hello everyone, today I want to share our amazing news. Jean and I as we welcome twins Jai Zinta Goodenough and Gia Zinta Goodenough into our family So happy and our hearts are full of gratitude and love.” She also spoke out about child safety and wrote a lengthy social media post about the alleged harassment her children faced.
Preti wrote: “This incident was about my daughter Gia – a woman tried to take a picture of her. When we politely asked her not to do it, she walked away and suddenly put my daughter in her arms.” arms, pressed a big wet kiss on her mouth, and ran away saying “what a sweet baby”. This woman lives in an elite building that happens to be in the garden where my kids play. If I Not being a celebrity, I might react badly, but I keep my cool because I don’t want to make a scene.”
