Neil Marr: An underground prison inmate died of cardiac arrest while being treated at a local hospital on Saturday.
Nirmal Sub-Jail superintendent Ch Chiranjeevi said Satheesh (27), a resident of Laxmanachanda Peechara village, was jailed for an electrocution case registered at Laxmanachanda police station on December 24.
Satheesh went into cardiac arrest around 2am and was transferred to a hospital in Nirmal. He died at 4.30am while receiving treatment. The body was transferred to Nilmar Regional Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. It will be handed over to the prisoner’s family at night.
