Jeddah: Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said the Indian diaspora living in the Gulf countries had some responsibilities towards their fellow countrymen.
Speaking to a delegation from the People’s Forum of India in Dubai on Wednesday before wrapping up his four-day visit to the UAE, Naidu said blue-collar Indian workers needed more support from their Gulf countrymen. He said that every Indian living in the UAE is an ambassador for India and called on NRIs to learn and respect Arab culture and traditions while promoting Indian culture.
K. Mahinder Reddy, convener of the Indian People’s Forum, Telangana branch of the Indian diaspora organization in the UAE, said Naidu also welcomed the goodwill earned by the hardworking Indian community in the UAE and other Gulf countries.
