Common: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is committed to providing shelter to all eligible poor in the state by building two-bedroom houses.
On Monday, he handed over the house pattas to the beneficiaries of 234 double bedrooms in YSR Nagar Colony, Division 8, Khammam City, and Jinkalathanda in Raghunathapalem mandal in the district.
In his speech, the Minister said that the largest number of two-bedroom houses was built in the Khammam constituency. All deserving people will get houses in the Khammam constituency.
He said that 1,250 houses were built at one site in Tekulapally close to the city with all facilities to allow the poor to live a decent life. With the support of the Chief Minister and the cooperation of IT Minister KT Rama Rao, a two-bedroom house of such a large scale was constructed in Khammam.
Ajay Kumar informed that the houses will have permanent title in the beneficiary’s name, along with house number and house tax. After Hyderabad, 2,000 double rooms were given away on a large scale in the town of Khammam alone.
“CPI leader Puvvada Nageswara Rao has granted home ownership to the poor in the past, and now I am glad to have the opportunity to do so with the help of the Chief Minister,” the minister noted.
He said the city of Khammam puts development and welfare first and all the welfare schemes provided by the government to the poor do not have any middlemen. A total of 30,000 people in Khammam City receive various types of Aasara pensions.
Earlier, Ajay Kumar initiated developments in different parts of the city. He informed that a new road from Srinivasa Nagar to Dhamsalapuram has been approved for funding of Rs 2 crore.
Mayor P Neeraja, SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar, AMC Chairman D Lakshmi Prasanna, Regional Collector VP Gautham, Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi, TRS City Wing President P Nagaraju and others were present.
