Hyderabad: PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University has expelled 34 second- and fourth-year students from their dormitories after they were accused of allegedly harassing first-year boarding students.
Of these, 25 students were immediately expelled from the dormitory. They were also expelled from university campuses and academics for two weeks, pending further orders, as detailed investigations are pending.
A further nine students were expelled from their residence halls and university vehicles until further orders await a detailed investigation.
As many as 25 first-year students complained to the Warden of Dormitory-A, which was ragged by senior boarders (Years II and IV) at the University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
The University’s Preliminary Inquiry Committee surveyed all first- and second-year boarding students and submitted a report to the associate dean, who recently issued an order to evict 34 students from the residence halls.
