Rajanna-Sircilla: In Saturday’s election for the Cooperative Electricity Supply Society Ltd (CESS) in Sircilla, turnout was 84%. A total of 73,189 voters exercised their right to vote out of 87,130 voters. Three constituencies of Ellanthakunta, Veernapalli and Vemulawada-II had the highest turnout at 90%, followed by Mustabad at 89%, Thangallapalli 88, Konaraopet 87, Vemulwada rural and Gambiraopet at 86%.
Electoral authorities orchestrated the conduct of the elections peacefully. A total of 75 people competed for 15 directorships. 252 polling stations were established at 202 polling centers in the 15 districts of the region. Voters voted peacefully from 8 am to 5 pm as multiple polling stations were set up.
State Cooperative Election Authority Sumitra and CESS Election Officer Mamatha inspected the voting process at ZPHS Girls’ School in Vemulawada Township and asked about the voting process by interacting with the staff. Police Commissioner Rahul Hegde inspects the voting process at Shivanagar Boys’ High School in Sircilla. Collector Anurag Jayanthi, who supervised the entire voting process, checked the voting process of ZPHS (Boys) and Kusuma Rajaiah ZPHS (Boys) of Sircilla Township.
The collector told the meeting that the regional administration had made careful arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the elections. He informed that 252 polling stations had been set up in the area and said voting was conducted in a transparent manner. After the election, the Commissioner held a meeting in the Commissioner’s office with the cooperating electors and instructed them to make adequate arrangements to conduct the count in a flawless manner. Counting will take place on December 26. The election of officers will take place on 27 December.
