Amaravati: YSR Congress leaders reacted strongly to comments made by film star Rajinikanth lavishing praise on Telugu Sam chief N Chandrababu Naidu at the centenary celebration of NTR’s birth here.
The film actor described Chandrababu as a visionary who he said developed Hyderabad.
According to reports, N Lakshmi Parvati, widow of NT Rama Rao and president of AP Telugu and Sanskrit College, objected to Rajinikanth’s remarks, arguing that the latter should recall NTR’s words in his final days.
She doesn’t think people will get carried away by the content of some published books. In her opinion, Rajinikanth’s remarks are as important as Balakrishna’s two films, neither Chandrababu nor Rajinikanth deserve to speak on NTR.
Lakshmi Parvati also recalled that when Chandrababu backstabbed NTR, Rajinikanth supported him and later apologized to NTR, and Tamil newspapers also criticized Rajinikanth’s position at the time.
In Vijayawada, former minister and Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani said Rajinikanth supported Chandrababu when he threw his shoe at NTR and now he praised the TDP founder.
“All the black sheep gathered in one place to organize NTR centenary. People were not bothered. What did Rajinikanth do when NTR was alive? What made him talk now? He was just reading a script written by someone else,” he commented.
