Kotian, Mulani shine with the ball, hosts take 7 points from victory

Hyderabad: Hyderabad suffered a humiliating innings and 217 runs against Mumbai in three days in the Group B Ranji Trophy match at Mumbai’s Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy on Thursday.
Recovering with an overnight score of 173/6, Hyderabad took a 214-run all-out, conceding a 437-run lead in the first innings.
Shams Mulani knocked down five wickets and added two more wickets on the second day to finish with an impressive figure of 7/94. For Hyderabad, K Rohit Rayudu had the highest batting score of 77 for 151 balls.
Next, the Hyderabad batsmen again underperformed. Despite their decent collaboration for 66 in the opening wicket between skipper Tanmay Agarwal (39) and P Akshath Reddy 923, the former’s dismissal in the 15th innings opened the door for the hosts.
Tanush Kotian caught Tanmay in front of the wicket before knocking down Akshath in succession. Mulani then sent Mickil Jaiswal for a duck as Hyderabad were reduced from 66/1 to 69/3.
Apart from Rahul Budhhi who scored 97 balls with 65 balls, the others fell apart without too much fighting. Tanmay Thyagarajan is unbeaten in 39 matches as Hyderabad sits at 220 innings.
For the hosts, Kotian finished with a bowling figure of 5/82, while Mulain took four wickets. Mumbai have seven points from the win.
