Paris: Iga Swatek took a huge lead in the French Open final before overcoming a crisis of confidence in the second set and a third-set loss to beat Carolina 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 on Saturday. Muchova won her third Roland Garros title and fourth Grand Slam title.
Top-ranked Swiatek took a 3-0 lead after just 10 minutes from Court Philippe Chatrier – scoring 12 of his initial 15 points – and then also 3-0 in the second set before Muchova scored More results are intriguing.
With Swiatek out of control and seeking advice from her coach between scoring, Muchova scored five of six games, tying each game.
Muchova carried that momentum into the decider, leading 2-0. That’s when Swatek returned to her usual clean-cut tennis style, running the clay with excellent defense and taking advantage of Mujova’s repeated mistakes.
Nonetheless, Swatek found himself behind again after breaking serve 4-3 in the third set before winning the last three games
