New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar will celebrate his 50th birthday on Monday, and social media has been flooding with well wishes for the explosive master.
From the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to his former team-mates, the Indian batting superstar received warm birthday wishes from across the country.
Sachin’s former opening partner Virendra Sehwag posted a unique birthday wish. He posted a video in which he can be seen performing “Shirshasana” and wrote: “Maidaan par jo aapne kaha, uska ulta hi kiya, toh aaj aapke iconic 50th birthday par toh aapko Shirshasana karke wish karna hi tha. Congratulations Happy birthday to you @sachin_rt Paaji, aap jiyo hazaaron saal, saal ke din ho ek crore.”
“Another half-century for Sachin Tendulkar. A cricketing legend through the years,” the International Cricket Council (ICC) tweeted.

BCCI shared Tendulkar’s record and wished him the 2011 World Cup Champion. “664 International Airport. Matches “34357 International Airport. The 2011 World Cup winner would like to wish the legendary and forever inspiring @sachin_rt a happy 50th birthday,” the BCCI tweeted.
“Happy birthday to cricket legend @sachin_rt who turns 50 today! His bat-swinging heroics have inspired millions around the world. Warmest wishes to the cricketing gods,” BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Ah (Jay Shah) said.
Former Indian star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh posted a lengthy tweet on Twitter, saying Sachin taught everyone that following the right process leads to long-term improvement.
“He came, he played, he conquered 4 generations of hearts! Good day or bad, no run or 100 runs, he always held his head high and kept his feet on the ground. He taught us that following the right process can bring Come to long-term progress!

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan also blessed Sachin in a different way. He tweeted: “165th International Half Century @sachin_rt .. Happy 50th Sachin”
A total of 34,357 cross-format runs were made in an international career spanning 24 years, an all-time high in ODIs and Tests, and a record 100 centuries accumulated across formats. In 2011, he won the World Cup, where he ended his World Cup scoring career with 482 points.
Sachin, who retired from ODIs in 2012, scored his first hundred in the penultimate match. His 200th Test match against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in November 2013 was the final match of his illustrious career.
