Minister Satyavathi Rathod kicked off the 6th State Tribal Gurukul Games and Games 2022 for girls in Bhadrachalam, Kothagudem district on Saturday.
Kota Gooden: Tribal, Women and Children’s Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had given priority to the education of tribal students, whose numbers had increased a lot in Gurukul over the past eight years.
The minister inaugurated the 6th National Tribal Gurukul Games and Games 2022 organized under the auspices of the Telangana Association of Tribal Welfare Residential Education Institutions in Bhadrachalam in the district on Saturday.
Speaking at the rally, Satyavathi said students who study at government Gurukuls have achieved academic success compared to corporate schools. Students studying in Gurukul and other public schools have achieved success in IIT, JEE and NEET exams.
The 6th State Tribal Gurukul Games and Games 2022 was held in Bhadrachalam, Kothagudem district, on Saturday.
The chief minister increased tribal reservation quotas and provided education and employment opportunities for tribal students. She suggested that students should seize the opportunities provided by the government to pave the way for their golden future.
English instruction is offered at all Gurukuls across the state. In the past 7 years, the TRS government has invested heavily in the development of Gurukul education, increasing the number of Gurukul students from 91 in the past to 183 now.
Satyavathi told the participants that self-confidence is a weapon and one should work hard to achieve one’s goals. Games not only contribute to physical strength, but also to health and mental happiness. Students should be ready to compete with the world.
Up to 1,200 girls from the Gurukuls, a tribe from all over Telangana, attended the four-day conference, which will host 25 events. MP Maloth Kavitha, ZP Chairman Koram Kanakaiah, MLA P Veeraiah, ITDA PO P Gautam and others were present.
