Hyderabad: The first trailer for Writer/Director Sudeep Kanwal’s ‘Privacy’ has just been released. See Rajshri Deshpande as a voyeur in this dark society thriller set in the slums of Mumbai. The movie’s trailer looks intriguing, and promises to be a fascinating one. It offers a chilling insight into how surveillance cameras capture more than just public spaces.
“Privacy” is a hard-hitting thriller that revolves around a troubled surveillance center operator in Mumbai as she begins to investigate anomalous events taking place under her watch. The film will have its world premiere at the 27th Bucheon International Film Festival (BiFan), Asia’s largest genre film event.
Filmmaker Sudeep Kanwal shares his thoughts on the script. He said: “I didn’t want to make black tech music, but wanted to keep the look and feel of ‘Privacy’ real. I wanted to focus on the characters rather than the technology. From the control room design, to the makeup, to the costumes, we decided to keep everything very grounded As much as possible, we shoot in authentic locations. The actors spend time with real people who have similar lifestyles and careers to their characters.”
Rajshri Deshpande added: “Playing Roopali feels like an emotional roller coaster. Sudeep and I discussed the nuances we wanted to keep in the performance. Watching to catch. Just like Rupali.”
“Privacy” is produced by Navin Shetty and Shlok Sharma of Fundamental Picture in association with House of Talent Studio. After the huge success of her Netflix original “Judgment by Fire”, Rajshri returns with another stunning performance in “Privacy”. The film also stars Nishank Verma, Sandesh Kulkarni, Abhilash Tapriar, Sorab Goyal, Chaya Kadam, Rashad Ra Na and Sagar Salenk are the protagonists.
