Osmania University Vice Chancellor D Ravinder and SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar signed an agreement on Wednesday

Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has deposited funds worth Rs 3 crore into the Department of Mining, Faculty of Engineering, Osmania University for the payment of faculty salaries under the ‘Professor’s Lectures’ scheme as part of plans to revive engineering courses in mining technology At the bachelor’s and master’s levels.
The agreement in this regard was signed on Wednesday by Osmania University Vice Chancellor D Ravinder and SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar. In his speech, Sridhar said that mining engineers are in great need for the development of the mining industry in the country and in this context, Singareni has donated Rs 3 million to the Faculty of Engineering of the University.
Sridhar pointed out that SCCL has long contributed to the development of Osmania University, he said, under the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Fund.
Company Director (Finance) N Balaram stated that Osmania University has given full support forty years ago and in establishing the “Kothagudem Mining College” in the Ramagundam-3 area. He informed that the company has also established a polytechnic in Shrirampur which has grown to be one of the best polytechnics in the state.
Vice-Chancellor Ravinder said Singareni’s contribution would inspire many other organizations and former students.
