Hyderabad: Dozens of devotees poured into the temple and joined the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad on Thursday to celebrate Sri Rama Navami in a show of amazing devotion and enthusiasm.
The city comes alive as people go to the various temples to pray to Lord Rama.
From Ammapally’s centuries-old Sita Rama Chandra Swamy temple to lesser-known temples in the city, devotees flock to attend kalyanam (marriage ceremony) and seek the blessing of the divine couple.
While some temples set up queues for the distribution of talambralu (rice mixed with turmeric powder), others arrange special offerings and prasadams for the occasion. Free flow of worshipers has been ensured and security in and around the temple has been enhanced.
But the celebration is not limited to temple grounds. Shobha yatras (processions) start from different temples and meander through the colonial paths to join the main procession in a colorful spectacle.
As the days go by, the crowds grow bigger and people from all walks of life gather to celebrate the festival.
