Medak: In the village of Tampaluru in Tekmal Mandal on Tuesday, a challenge to his friend by a young man who tried unsuccessfully to swim through a water tank proved fatal.
On Tuesday, MD Sabre from Tampaluru and his friends Ramesh, Santosh, Bandelli and Roshan held a reception at Tank Bund on the outskirts of the village. Ramesh and Saber challenge each other on swimming abilities, and to prove each other wrong, the two jump into the tank and swim across. Saber drowned when Ramesh managed to swim past the tank.
The body was recovered by villagers on Wednesday, according to Tekmal police. A case has been filed.
