Tamil Nadu: Man throws acid on wife in court

A man has attacked his wife with acid inside the Coimbatore District Court building, but the motive is unclear.

Coimbatore: A man allegedly threw acid on his wife at the district courthouse here on Thursday, injuring her and two others, it said.

Kahuita was in court this morning for a hearing in a case when the incident occurred, police said.

Some lawyers nearby overpowered Shivakumar and handed him over to the police.

Kawisha and the lawyers were taken to a government hospital for treatment.

They said an investigation was underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
