Hyderabad: Remember when ChatGPT gave you the perfect answer you needed but it was outdated? It will tell you what are the best places to eat masala dosa in Hyderabad, but some of them will be permanently closed.
Well, that’s because it’s answering based on information that’s only updated as far as 2021.
In an effort to put an end to the biggest shortcoming of its AI products, OpenAI announced on Saturday that starting next week, ChatGPT will be able to browse the web. The company has been testing this in alpha for quite some time. As of now, it’s only available to subscribers.
This major update will essentially connect the interactive chatbot to the internet and help it provide more up-to-date responses. Additionally, Microsoft has adopted the latest GPT-4 version in its Bing Chat, which will now include more than 70 third-party browser plugins.
The integration of third-party browser plugins, including platforms such as Slack, promises to boost productivity with AI assistance.
Indian Alternatives to ChatGPT:
A Delhi-based technologist has launched an AI-powered content creation platform called ChatSonic that aims to address the limitations of ChatGPT. Samanyou Garg is the founder and CEO of Writesonic, the platform’s parent company.
Not only does ChatSonic offer AI image generation through DallE and Stable Diffusion integration in chat, but it also offers custom templates for blogs, ads, emails, tweets, and more.
His products can also respond to voice commands like Siri or Alexa. Interestingly, they offer personalized avatars like typical Indian math teachers or fitness trainers.
ChatSonic’s Chrome extension enables users to use its AI capabilities on any platform and can be easily integrated into any business website.
Linda Yaccarino, the new Twitter boss:
Billionaire Elon Musk has been in disarray six months into his tenure as Twitter CEO and has been mulling over the idea of a succession, eventually naming Linda Yaccarino as the new Twitter boss.
“Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the app for everything,” he tweeted a day after he sparked speculation about a new CEO.
Linda has a background in advertising, having spent 15 years at Turner Entertainment before joining NBCUniversal, according to the BBC. In 2012, The Wall Street Journal nicknamed her “The Velvet Hammer” for her distinctive negotiating style.
WhatsApp lets users lock chats
Yuan-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that allows its users to lock down their intimate and private conversations.
Called “Chat Lock,” it will give users the option to move those chats to a separate folder that can only be accessed with a password or biometric authentication.
Multiple chats can be locked using this feature, and it also hides the sender’s name and message preview in notifications.
Vodafone cuts 11,000 jobs
Marguerite de la Valle, Vodafone’s new chief executive and corporate finance chief, said the telecom giant’s past few years had not been good.
More than 11,000 jobs are expected to be cut over the next three years as part of her plan to revive the company. This will affect about one-tenth of their global workforce.
