Hyderabad: After a three-day hiatus, Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress led by Rahul Gandhi, will be held on October 27 from the Narayanpet district of Telangana state, party sources said on Wednesday. Maktal is back to work.
After leaving Karnataka from Raichur, Bharat Jodo Yatra entered the state via Gudebellur on the morning of 23 October. After a short march, there was a three-day rest from Sunday noon to October 26.
Sources said yatra will resume operation at 6.30am from the 11/22 KV substation in Makthal and after driving 3km, he may head to Kanyaka Parameswari temple for prayers.
Gandhi is expected to arrive in the state tonight, TPCC sources said.
The march led by the descendant of Gandhi is expected to complete 26.7km on Thursday with a one-night stop at the Sri Balaji factory in Makthal.
From Makthal, yatra will last 16 days in Telangana, covering 19 parliamentary constituencies and 7 parliamentary constituencies, a distance of 375 kilometers, before entering Maharashtra on November 7.
The parade will have a full one-day break on November 4th.
Assemblyman Wayanad will meet with intellectuals, leaders of various communities, politicians, sports, business and film figures, although some of them are preparing to join him on the trip.
Rahul will visit some prayer halls, mosques and Hindu temples in Telangana. Interfaith prayers will also be offered, the TPCC said.
Bharat Jodo Yatra starts from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7th September.
Gandhi completed the marathon walks in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka before starting the Telangana leg of yatra.
The state assembly has set up 10 special committees to coordinate the Telangana journey.
