Hyderabad: Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari on Monday directed district tax collectors to submit details of crop losses due to unseasonable rains in the state by May 1.
The chief secretary held a video conference with all district collectors, asking for special officers to be appointed for each order to assess the damage.
She said she instructed the receivers to take appropriate measures to prevent the paddy stocked at the procurement centers from getting wet as there may be several more days of thunderstorms in the state.
Referring to crop losses caused by recent rains, the chief secretary said that compensation payments will be made from Monday.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Raghunandan Rao, Disaster Management Minister Rahul Bojja and Panchayat Raj Commissioner Hanumantha Rao.
