Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy launched paddy procurement on Tuesday in Arjala Bhavi, Nalgonda district.

Bhupal Reddy, who runs a paddy procurement center in Arjala Bhavi village here, said paddy production has increased due to improved irrigation facilities, free 24×7 electricity supply and investment support from Rythu Bandhu.
Despite the Center’s intention to stop purchasing paddy from the state, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to continue buying paddy from farmers to protect the interests of farmers.
Reddy also asked farmers to bring their paddy to procurement centers for a Minimum Support Price (MSP) by maintaining a prescribed moisture percentage.
District harvester T Vinay Krishna Reddy said 278 paddy procurement centers will be set up in the district for procurement. Of the 15 million sacks required for paddy procurement, 12 million sacks are already available. It is estimated that 1.3 million tonnes of paddy will enter the buying centers for the Yasangi cropping season. He said.
