Telangana gov't efforts for education of the poor: Indrakaran Reddy

Minister Indrakaran Reddy interacted with participants of the 8th State Sports Championships at Telangana State Social Welfare Residential School (TSWR) (Girls) at the Bosmandar Centre on Wednesday.

Adilabad: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said the state government was working hard for the welfare of students from economically disadvantaged communities. He made the remarks after the opening ceremony of the 8th Telangana Social Welfare boarding School (TSWR) (Women) State Sports Championships held over four days at the Bosmandal Centre on Wednesday.

Indrakaran Reddy said the state government has established boarding schools and colleges in each district to ensure that poor students continue to pursue higher education. It places great emphasis on providing quality education and extra-curricular activities in schools and colleges. He said it paid particular attention to encouraging students to participate in sports, adding that students in social welfare residential education institutions excel not only academically but also in sports and government jobs.

A total of 1,176 girls, their coaches and PE teachers participated in the tournament at TSWR schools across the state. Boath MLA Rathod Bapu Rao, Regional Coordinator K Swarupa, Boath TSWRS Head Swarnalatha and many others attended the meeting.
