hunt: The stage is set for the three-day Pedda Hanuman Jayanthi celebration, which is scheduled to begin at the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple from Friday.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the celebration, which is expected to be attended by around 300,000 devotees from Telangana and the neighboring states of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. According to tradition, priests from the Sri Rama Temple in Badrachalam and from the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Shrine in Vemulawada will offer silk to Lord Anjaneya Swamy to mark the start of the celebration.
Apart from the main temple, the associated shrines were also decorated and welcoming arches were placed from the foot of the hill to the main shrine on the Dongalamarri-JNTU route. In order to resist the extreme heat, in addition to mobile drinking water trucks, temporary lunch boxes and drinking water centers have been set up in different locations. Medical camps, lighting, parking lots and other amenities are in place for the convenience of pilgrims.
Additionally, temporary toilets have been installed and additional cleaners have been assigned to keep the temple grounds clean. Women’s changing rooms are also arranged at the temple pool and special arrangements are made for devotees who receive Hanuman Deeksha. For the convenience of pilgrims, LED screens have also been installed at various locations.
Collector Shaik Yasmeen Basha assigned MPDO, MPO and Tahsildar through division of labor for various tasks. At the same time, the police stepped up security measures to ensure the smooth progress of the celebration. In addition to the existing CCTV cameras inside the shrine, additional cameras have been installed at various points leading to the shrine, all connected to the control room. Police chief A Bhaskar advised devotees to follow the instructions of the police when heading to the holy place. He also advises devotees who have participated in Hanuman Diksha to carry flashlights and put radium stickers on their backpacks when walking on the road at night.
