Hyderabad: Congress and the BJP plan to make the leaked Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam papers a topic in the upcoming parliamentary polls and force the ruling BRS into a bind as these efforts have caused considerable poverty from National Youth Response.
As soon as the leaked test papers came to light, both the Congress and the BJP tried to gain political gain from it, even announcing that they would hold a “Nirudyoga March” (job march) across the state, which would be attended by more than 3 million unemployed youths. However, their enthusiasm did not last long as few unemployed youths participated in the “Nirudyoga Marches” they organized in several districts.
Although leaders of the party’s regional units widely publicized the Nirudyoga marches among students and youth and began distributing pamphlets at universities, tutoring centres, colleges, libraries and erecting billboards and posters in various districts, there was little any response. In order to avoid embarrassment, the two parties had to use their respective positive organizations, especially the student wing, to bring college students to the “Nirudyoga March”.
In fact, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay is keen to make the newspaper leak a poll issue, and he is reportedly angry with regional leaders for failing to inspire unemployed youths to join the Nirudyoga march. The BJP has staged two marches so far in Warangal and Mahabnagar districts, where few unemployed youths showed up, embarrassing the party.
Following poor response to the party’s unemployment rallies, TPCC chairman A Revanth Reddy is now courting senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to draw the attention of the state’s youth. The party plans to organize a meeting at the Saroornagar grounds in the first week of May, with a speech by Priyanka Gandhi to highlight unemployment.
In fact, in an effort to lure young people into Congress, A Revanth Reddy has pledged to fill 200,000 vacancies within a year of the state forming government. “Vote for Congress to win and we will fill 200,000 vacancies in less than a year.” He also pledged to pay unemployment benefits with retroactive effect at a meeting in Adilabad recently.
Both parties, especially the BJP are actively opposing the ruling BRS and trying to place all the blame on it, but young people who understand the real motives behind the marches are staying away from them.
