Hyderabad: Pawan Kalyan-Bhumika Chawla’s classic Kushi joins the trend of re-releases of old Telugu movies in theaters and will be released again on December 31 before New Year’s Eve.
According to reports, an upgraded and remastered version of the film with 4K projection technology will be shown in theaters for a week on January 6.
The director of the film SJ Suryah wrote on his social media accounts: “A timeless blockbuster, an OG love saga. Relive the everlasting romance at a theater near you from 31 Dec #Kushi , enjoy the magic of eternity again! #KushiReRelease @PawanKalyan @iam_SJSuryah @bhumikachawlat @pcsreeram #ManiSharma @AMRathnamOfl (sic).”
Kushi is a Telugu remake of the Tamil movie of the same name starring Vijay and Jyotika. Kushi marks the second year of directing for filmmaker and actor SJ Suryah. The film was produced by AM Ratnam, filmed by PC Sreeram and composed by Mani Sharma.
Released in 2001, the romantic drama became a huge trendsetting blockbuster at the time, and brought Pawan Kalyan a cult following among the audience.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu and Theresa Okadu is also reportedly set to re-release on January 7. Fans of both Pavankarian and Mahesh Babu can’t wait to experience the thrill again in theaters after the news went viral on social media.
