Angels: The producers of The Nun are gearing up for a sequel to the film.
On Thursday, they released a trailer for the film, which certainly got fans excited.
The sequel, starring Taissa Farmiga, is out September 8.
According to Variety, the film begins after a priest is brutally murdered in France in 1956.
According to the film’s official synopsis, “The Nun 2 tells the story of Sister Irene (Farmiga) who once again comes face to face with the demon Valak.” Farmiga with Bonnie Aarons and Jonas Bloquet Returning together, they will play “The Frenchman” Wallack and Maurice, respectively. “The Nun 2” will introduce new members to the “Conjuring” universe, including Caitlin Rose Downey as Sophie, Anna Papplewell as Marcella and Storm Riley as an unknown new character Germany.
The $2 billion franchise began in 2013 with the original “The Conjuring” film starring Patrick Wilson and Taissa Farmiga’s older sister, Vera Farmiga. The original film was inspired by the non-fiction book The Horror at Amityville by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Conjuring’s first spinoff, Annabelle, premiered in 2014.
Soon after, The Conjuring 2 in 2016, Annabelle: Creation in 2017, and a second spinoff, The Nun, in 2018. After “The Nun”, the “Conjuring” universe has launched “Cursed”. “La Llorona,” “Annabelle Comes Home,” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” The Nun 2 is directed by Michael Chavez of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do This, and The Nun 2 is written by M3GAN writer Acra Cooper and Fear the Walking Dead writer Ian Goldberg and Richard Nairn screenwriter.
