Hyderabad: President of Dazan Group Shay Segev Been to Hyderabad about five times. Before joining DAZN Group, he was involved in a technology company operating in Hyderabad. As a UK resident, he said Hyderabad has grown a lot over the past eight years and shared his experience in the transformation of Hyderabad and its relationship with the Telangana government Telangana today.
Q. Transformation of Hyderabad
answer. Cities become busier, with more companies and tall buildings. Office buildings, hotels, transport infrastructure and especially Hyderabad’s airport connectivity are good.
Q. Collaboration with the Government of Telangana
answer. We have been planning for a long time to set up an Indian Development Center in Hyderabad. Things happen very fast here. We were able to select offices, sign contracts and hire staff within months. Industry Minister KT Rama Rao and the local authorities have been very supportive of setting up our development centre, otherwise we would not have been able to do things so quickly.
Q. Evaluation of other locations before Hyderabad
answer. I have also worked in a company in Pune but it all depends on the local leadership. Before Hyderabad we evaluated different options including pre-war Ukraine, Poland (where we already had a base) but given my good and positive experience in Hyderabad we settled on this city .
Q. Advantages of Hyderabad
answer. Three factors that make Hyderabad more attractive. One is affordable labor costs. Setting up a development center with 1,000 people and expanding it to 3,000 people will be very costly. The second is talent reserve. In the UK, if we had to recruit 1,000 engineers it would take years, and elsewhere it is difficult to get a skilled and talented workforce. The third is culture. This is the 3rd company I am building and the performance, commitment, ethics and work culture of the Hyderabad staff is excellent.
