Hyderabad: Meerpet police arrested three people on Thursday in connection with the kidnapping of a businessman over a financial dispute.
Those arrested were identified as V Pawan Kumar (36), Renivatla Venkatesh (30) and Abotula Govinda Rao (29), all of Andhra Pradesh. One of their accomplices, Patnam Kannan (42), is on the run.
According to the police, the victims Rayidi Radhakrishna and Pawan had started an internet business, with the former investing nearly Rs. 7 million. After some time, a rift arose between them and Pawan demanded that Radhakrishna return the money to him, who was under no obligation to return it to him, causing animosity between them. Later, Radha Krishna moved to Hyderabad.
“Pawan traced through his sources to Radhakrishna’s residence in the city, where he was recently with two of his accomplices, Govinda and Kannan. On Tuesday morning, the suspects kidnapped Radhakrishna, who was on his way to his office, and took him to Bundled up in a car and demanding money from his family,” Meerpet Inspector M Mahender Reddy said. The businessman was later released.
Following a complaint from Radhakrishna’s wife, the police formed a team, arrested all three and rescued the man.
