Three people traveling in a vehicle fell into Nala and died after a section of road collapsed in Shimla’s Namkarri area.

Simla: Three motorists fell into Nala and died when a section of road collapsed near Sharan Dhank in Shimla’s Namkarri district on Tuesday.
A section of the Neerath-Nankhari-Pandadhar link road in Nankhari district collapsed after a car was dragged into the nala below.
Other commuters in the area saw the car sinking into Narra and notified police. Police, firefighters and locals launched a rescue operation and recovered three bodies, police said.
The deceased were identified as Veer Singh (40), Himmat Singh (28) and Ratan (50), all from Nankhari. Chief Minister Sukhvind Singh Suhu expressed his sorrow over the incident.
So far, 125 people have died in rain-related incidents and road accidents since the monsoon season began on July 24. According to the state emergency centre, the state has suffered damage of Rs 4,636 crore.
As many as 647 roads remained blocked, including 244 in Shimla, 136 in Kullu, 83 in Silmaur and 60 in Mandi district, while 1,115 transformers and 543 water supply systems in the state were disrupted, officials said.
The local weather bureau has issued a yellow alert, with heavy rain expected in remote parts of the state for the next four days to July 22.
