Hyderabad: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has alerted devotees to the fake website “https://tirupatibalaji-ap-gov.org/”. “This fake website was created to look like a similar page with slight modifications to prey on hundreds of thousands of devotees visiting the Tirupati Balaji website to book darshan tickets and accommodation,” TTD officials said on Sunday. Fake URL The address is https://tirupatibalaji-ap-gov.org/, and the URL of the official website is https://tirupatibalaji.ap.gov.in/”.
This fake website offers discounted darshan tickets at Rs 300, accommodation in Tirumala and also provides temple updates similar to the official website. As a result, thousands of pilgrims are stuck booking tickets on fake websites.
TTD IT discovered the fake website and filed an FIR with the Tirumala One Town Police Department under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC. Based on the complaint, AP Forensic Cyber Cell has started an investigation into the fake Tirupati Balaji website.
TTD fans please note the URL address of TTD official website before booking tickets online. It also said they can book tickets through the official TT mobile app, TTDevasthanams.
