Hyderabad: Prime Video’s upcoming series “The Power” premieres March 31. Based on Naomi Alderman’s best-selling novel of the same name, the show revolves around four teenagers who mysteriously acquire exciting superpowers. Leading to gruesome and violent after-effects, including undermining the country’s power dynamics.
Actor Toni Collete, who plays Seattle’s mayor in the series, is charged with maintaining equality and balancing power dynamics.
Academy Award-nominated actor Toni recently began experimenting with the role of the mayor in the Amazon original. She said: “Margot is a down-to-earth, honest, intelligent woman. She is a seeker and a speaker of truth in uncertain times; she digs deep to allow herself and her work to do the right thing. That That is, don’t abuse it.”
Sharing her excitement for the series, the actor said: “This story looks at an underlying, somewhat immediate balance of power between the sexes. We’re all born into a world where society supports gender differences. Situations happen here. In a reversal, everyone involved in making Thrones specifically agreed on the need for equality.”
Toni Collette stars John Leguizamo, Auli’i Cravalho, Toheeb Jimoh, Josh Charles, Eddie Marsan, Ria Zmitrowicz, Zrinka Cvitesic, Halle Bush and more. “Thrones” will likely be released on March 30.
