Using the tracking system, passengers can plan their trip and avoid unnecessary waiting at bus stops and stations time,” said a senior TSRTC official.
As a pilot project, more than 4,000 buses including AC Pushpak buses at Cantonment and Miyapur-2 stations are operating on different routes at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Sharm Shabad, Miyapur-1 and Picket stations 100 coaches operating on routes Srisailam, Vijayawada, Eluru, Bhadrachalam, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam etc are equipped with “TSRTC Bus Tracker”.
Subsequently, officials plan to introduce vehicle tracking to all booking services and special types of services in the districts as well as in the city of Hyderabad.
“Although there have been several technical glitches, the app has proven to be very helpful for bus passengers. We have also instructed bus conductors to raise awareness about the tracking system as much as possible,” the official said.
RTC officials have asked passengers to download the app from the Google Play Store. The link to download the mobile application is also available at www.tsrtc.telangana.gov.in.
