Prayer meeting: UP Kinnar Welfare Board and Kinnar Akhara Governor Kaushalyanand Giri, also known as Tina Maa, has booked a screening of “Kerala Stories” at a multiplex in the city, where people from the transgender community will be Watch this movie Friday.
Tina Maa claims that the kinnar (transgender) community is the group most affected by religious conversion.
“We’ve been taking action to examine religious dialogue and ‘love jihad’ between girls and the transgender community, but this is the first time we’ve organized a special screening of a film that highlights this theme.
“We will continue to tell our community members and girls about ‘love jihad’ and the ill effects of religious conversion,” Tina Maa said.
She added, “Religious conversion is a sensitive issue that should be dealt with tactfully and quickly. The transgender community has always been the group most affected by religious conversion. Kinnar Akhara is taking this issue seriously and has brought some converted transgender people back Hinduism.”
She further claimed, “I have launched a nationwide campaign to examine religious conversions in the transgender community and over 32 of us have returned to Hinduism after converting to Islam.”
She further expressed her confidence in carrying out the campaign in wartime and checking the practice at the grassroots level.
“Story from Kerala” was an eye-opener for the community and a must-watch for everyone, she said.
“There is a need for a mass awareness campaign on sensitive issues. People must understand the realities and events happening in Kerala and elsewhere,” she added.
