The TRS (now BRS) switched to combat mode ahead of next year’s parliamentary elections, with a 365-day action plan.
Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) donned his war paint, switched to combat mode ahead of next year’s parliamentary elections, and laid out a 365-day plan of action.
The declaration of war on the BJP, and the statement by party chairman and chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao that there will be no early polls and that most of the incumbent MLAs will get tickets, akin to an early announcement of candidates, has put the opposition in a bind.
As well as effectively battling the opposition, the party leadership is keen to use this time frame to ensure that all welfare and development programs initiated by the state government reach eligible beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister has a multi-pronged strategy for party staff, each responsible for different activities. Over the next 365 days, party lawmakers are tasked with ensuring that election promises are implemented in their respective constituencies. They are also assigned to reach out to every voter, especially families who benefit from state programs. They are directed to remain strictly within their respective constituencies and engage with their constituents unless compelled to visit Hyderabad or any other place.
“On average, each household has at least one person who benefits from one or another state government program. Over the next few weeks, legislators will coordinate with party district chairmen to prepare a list of those responsible for dealing with 100 voters reconnected. The idea is to bridge any communication gap between the party and the people. The MLA will continue to address these issues in an official capacity,” a TRS secretary general told Telangana Today after attending a party member convention on Tuesday.
Sources said the list of electorate chiefs will be shared with the party headquarters, which is preparing a huge database for future coordination and communication to effectively reach the people, especially the youth, on the development and welfare activities being implemented. by the state government. Many young voters are unaware of the sacrifices and struggles of the TRS (BRS) and the party’s top leader, Chandrashekar Rao, during the campaign in Telangana. “Our ‘voter engagement’ program will ensure we reach them directly and effectively on development and welfare programmes,” the source said.
In addition, the party MLA will engage with members of each community and address their grievances, if any, by holding community meetings (Athmeeya Sammelans). Party leaders have been tasked with ensuring that party activists are not overlooked. For the third time, the chief minister has assured a majority of sitting MPs his party ticket and is also understood to have promised justice for those who work in the party. He is said to have explained the importance of continuity of priorities in office to bring the implementation of various government programs to a logical conclusion.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has thrown the opposition into disarray by announcing that there will be no early polls and that all but a few sitting MPs will remain. By announcing the candidates almost a year in advance, Chandrashekhar Rao has issued an open challenge to them. Therefore, party lawmakers are required to ensure that they regularly and vigorously rebut the allegations against them by the opposition. MLAs are also directed to conduct regular tours of their constituencies and review various efforts.
