TSSPDCL simplifies changing connection ownership

Hyderabad: Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) has simplified the process of changing ownership of electricity service connections, considering the difficulties people face in applying for change of ownership of electricity service connections.

In a press release issued on Thursday, TSSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) G Raghuma Reddy informed that electricity consumers can change the name of the electricity service connection by submitting some documents through the company’s website www.tssouthernpower.com or through the Integrated Customer Service Centre / customer service center.

He said consumers applying for a change of name or transfer of ownership must submit the applicant’s identification and self-certification on non-judicial stamped paper worth Rs 100, compensation in the prescribed format, along with the applicant’s photo and self-certification A copy of the registered deed of sale (or) the partnership deed (or) the deed (or) any other registered title document in the name of the current applicant.

He further stated that in the case of a company, an additional MOU and Articles of Association/or Partnership Deed and a company power of attorney need to be uploaded to the applicant.

Whereas, in case of joint ownership of company property (or) partnership, additional upload of No Objection and Consent (NOC) in the prescribed format on non-judicial stamp paper worth Rs 10. If transfer to any legal heirs is required, upload a self-certified copy of the previous owner’s death certificate and legal heir certificate.

According to the press release, CMD has instructed Supervising Engineers to periodically review applications for title transfers that are denied or pending, and promptly investigate the reasons for the denial and ensure that name changes/transfers of title are affected within 7 days.
