Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited injured survivors of the Morby Suspension Bridge tragedy at a government hospital today.
While the prime minister met with survivors of a tragedy that claimed some 141 lives, images of his visit to the refurbished former hospital went viral on Twitter.
Users had earlier mocked Modi for asking if the bridge collapse was an “act of God” or a “fraud,” referring to his statement about a similar incident in Kolkata. Now, users are outraged by the pictures of the renovation, tweeting #Go_Back_Modi.
“This is a very, very shameful thing Modiji did in Gujarat, a lot of people lost their lives today and your only concern is your election really #Go_Back_Modi,” wrote one disappointed user.
“If someone died at home, would they be dyed and painted? #MorbiBridgeCollapse Modi ji will meet the wounded today at the hospital’s Morbi Bridge #ActOfFruad. That hospital is becoming capable of taking pictures overnight,” another bit wrote.
Users took issue with turning tragic events into photos to appease the public ahead of the election.
