Hyderabad: Two members of an interstate diversion gang in Bihar who were involved in 10 cases in the city were arrested by Asifnagar police on Friday. Officers recovered Rs 250,000 in cash, 115 ATM cards, mobile phones and a credit card machine from them.
Those arrested were Attaualla Khan alias Dane (28) and Surendra Kumar (33) from Gaya, Bihar. The absconder was Biru Pandi, also from Bihar. They were involved in the cases of Asifnagar, Humayunnagar, Saifabad, Sultan Bazaar and Mirchowk.
Police said the pair came to the city and took refuge in a hotel in Secunderabad and committed the crime. They pick up ATM cards from various banks that customers have forgotten about and use them.
“They tampered with the ATM machine, inserting an ATM card with chip glue into the slot. It would distort the function of the machine in the next few transactions.
