A total of 75 science teachers from 20 districts of Telangana participated in the workshop
Warangal: With the support of the Ministry of Science, Government of India, Vigyan Prashar and NIT Warangal, Science Communication Project SCOPE co-hosted a two-day astronomy workshop on Wednesday and Thursday.
SCOPE Project Coordinator Prof. A Ramachandraiah and Principal Investigator Prof. K Lakshmareddy explained the main objectives of the workshop while DST Vigyan Prasar Scientist Dr. TV Venkateswaran explained how the calendar was formed, explained the Gregorian, Lunar and explained about the different countries of the world /The calendar used by the region.
Another keynote speaker, Prof. MSJ Rukmini from the Department of Astronomy, University of Osmania, explained the birth and death of stars and galaxies with the theme of physics principles – understanding the universe. Prof. D Shantipriya from OU talked about galaxies, constellations and celestial bodies.
N Sriraghunandan Kumar, President of Planetary Society of India, explains the celestial events that will occur in 2023 and how to watch them. Arrangements have been made to show sky views and constellation identifications directly through the telescope on Thursday night, he said.
