Sources told ANI that a group of Khalistan militants attempted to set fire to the Indian consulate in San Francisco around 1:40am on Sunday.

Sources confirmed video of the incident and told ANI that the San Francisco Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze. An official described the attack as an “act of terror” and told ANI that there were no major damage or injuries to staff.

The San Francisco local police department, special diplomatic security personnel, and state and federal authorities were notified and began investigating the incident immediately. Following the incident, several rounds of meetings between police and government officials prompted severe and immediate action against those responsible.

In addition, Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Consul General of the Indian Consulate General in San Francisco Dr. TV Nagendra Prasad were also targeted by posters allegedly circulated by Sikh extremists, Sikh extremists have accused them of playing a role in the June incident. Kalistan Tigers leader and designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijar killed in Canada.

Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar said on Monday that India has asked partner countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia not to provide space for radical extremist ideologies such as the Kalistan faction.

Regarding the names of Indian diplomats printed on the posters of Khalistan in Canada, Jaishankar said: “We have asked partner countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States not to give space to these Khalistan people. These radical extremist ideologies Not good for us, them or our relationship.

Questions for these posters will be asked. This is not the first time the San Francisco consulate has been attacked. In March, several protesters held up slogans supporting Callistan, broke through a makeshift security barrier set up by San Francisco police and erected two so-called cards inside the consulate. Listan flags. The flags were quickly removed by two consulate personnel.

The U.S. government condemned the violence during protests at Indian diplomatic facilities in the U.S., while saying that violence or the threat of violence was never an acceptable form of protest and deserved “serious concern.” The US State Department also responded after pro-Khalistan supporters in the US threatened the Indian embassy and its ambassador, Talanjit Singh Sandhu, at another protest outside the Indian embassy in Washington.

During a rally outside the embassy, a protester directly threatened the ambassador in a speech, saying “hypocrisy” would end and that the ambassador could face a fate similar to that of former Indian President Zaire Singh in 1994.

A State Department spokesperson told ANI: “Violence or threats of violence against diplomatic facilities and personnel within the United States are of grave concern and will not be tolerated.”

There have been several protests by Kalistan supporters outside the Indian embassy and consulate in San Francisco, but no action has been taken against any individual or group. The radical Sikh group also plans to gather outside the Indian embassy in the United States on July 8.
