New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman and former India captain Virat Kohli has reportedly unfollowed Delhi Capitals (DC) mentor and former BCCI chairman Sourav Ganguly on Instagram.
This came a day after the DC mentor avoided shaking Kohli’s hand after RCB beat DC by 23 points at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
In video of Saturday’s game circulating on social media, Ganguly was seen jumping through the queue to avoid shaking Kohli’s hand after DC head coach Ricky Ponting stopped the RCB batsman during the customary post-match handshake.
Notably, Kohli resigned as T20I captain and was later sacked as captain of the ODI team during Ganguly’s tenure as BCCI president.
A week later, Kohli shockingly revealed at a press conference during India’s 2021 visit to South Africa that there had been no communication between him and the selection committee about the ODI leadership change, which he had been told by selectors hours before the Test series selection meeting It has been decided that he will not be captain.
Kohli disputed Ganguly’s claim that the selectors had warned him about the captaincy.
