Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao made no secret of what was happening in the country’s democracy, noting that what was done even during the election was unfortunate and shameful.
He cited the illegal campaign model, rumours and accusations that the BJP had spread and accused in Munugode, stating that voters were forced to paint lotus flowers on their hands, while rumours spread about congressional candidates who met him. This is unfortunate, he added, and politicians should maintain a certain level of dignity. Although the Telangana movement is an emotional enterprise, TRS has never been so low-key, adding that the BJP does not respect the four pillars of democracy. How could they be so confident in deceiving people, he asked, adding that the state managed to capture the three agents on the spot and expose them.
“They shamelessly promise that in addition to looking after the safety of those who join them, they will also deal with the ED and other investigative agencies. This appears to be a big mafia of nearly 24 people. Each of them has multiple Aadhar cards, PAN cards and other IDs.”
“One of them claims that as long as the EVM is used, they will remain in power. They also have no respect for the judiciary and the people’s courts. This will not be tolerated. I urge the judiciary not to treat this as an isolated case. The modus operandi used. If we don’t stop them, the country is going to be in a very unhealthy situation and it will be impossible to correct,” he said.
“They are unable to provide drinking and irrigation water, power supply and develop infrastructure. Instead, they are only focused on overthrowing the government,” he said, asking how these agents, unconstitutional authorities can provide contracts, protect central institutions and even central security and bright politics future.
“How could they confidently make such a commitment without the support of the highest power in the central government,” he asked, and if that was the case, what was the purpose of the whole cumbersome electoral process.
The TRS has also brought in MLAs from other parties, but only in a democratic way, and after a clear two-thirds majority in parliament won the mandate of the people.
“We didn’t buy the MLAs like the BJP. For four or five months, when some congressional MLAs expressed their desire to join us, we didn’t allow it. Only when two-thirds of the MLAs joined by properly following the constitutional process We agreed. How dare they come to Hyderabad and plot to overthrow my government? Why should I put up with this?” he asked.
