Hyderabad: Meta-owned WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature called “Voice Status Updates,” which allows users to record voice notes and share them as the app’s status.
Earlier, this feature was released for Android users, but now it is also available for iPhone devices.
WhatsApp users can now access the Voice Status feature by going to the Status section and clicking the ‘pencil’ icon next to ‘My Status’. Selecting this option will take you to a status update page where users can use the “microphone” icon in the lower right corner of the screen to record up to 30 seconds of voice notes or messages.
Users can choose who should be able to see voice status and who should not use WhatsApp’s private audio selection feature, which is now live.
Previously, viewers who should see a status had to be manually selected from the app’s Settings menu, and it worked for all statuses. Now, a private audio selector can be selected for a specific state, which is a huge relief for its users.
