WTC final: India reach 151/5 on day two stumps, trail Australia by 318 points

London: India reached 151-5 at the stumps on the second day of the World Test Championship final against Australia here on Thursday, trailing by 318 runs in the first innings.

The Australians, who were knocked out on 469 in their first overs, recovered three points overnight on 327 at the Oval.

After struggling with centurions Steve Smith and Travis Hyde on the first day, the Indian Pacers did a good job of limiting Australia.

Smith scored his 31st Test hundred as Hyde went on to fight back for 163 before being sent off with a solid 121.

Mohammed Siraj was the most successful Indian bowler with 4/108 in 28.3 overs while Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur Each has two small doors.

Australian first innings: 121.3 innings in all 469 innings (Travis Head 163, Steve Smith 121; Mohammed Siraj 2/122, Shardul Thakur 2/83).
India: 151/5 in 38 overs (Ajinkya Rahane 29 overs, Ravindra Jadeja 48; Nathan Lyon 1/4).
