Students of Geetham Degree and PG College of Sathupalli, Khammam District, are on a botanical tour at Kadiyam Nursery near Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.

Kota Gooden: The university students’ educational journey turned miserable when a private bus carrying them overturned in Papidigudem, the district’s Aswaraopet mandal, on Saturday, injuring 13 students and two lecturers.
There were about 40 students and staff on the school bus at the time of the incident. Students of Geetham Degree and PG College of Sathupalli, Khammam District, are on a botanical tour at Kadiyam Nursery near Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.
The driver of the bus allegedly lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid hitting an oncoming vehicle on a narrow country road, causing the bus to veer off the road and roll over in farmland next to the road.
Locals rushed to rescue the students, smashing windows and taking them out of the car. The injured students were transferred to Aswaraopet Primary Health Care Center for treatment and are said to be safe.
Excursions were canceled and the students were brought back to Sathupalli by rickshaws and other vehicles. Local police have arrived at the scene to investigate the incident.
