Kathmandu: At least 30 people were killed when a passenger plane crashed in the Pokhara area of Nepal’s Kaski district on Sunday.
Chief District Officer Tek Bahadur KC confirmed that the bodies of 30 passengers had been recovered so far.
“There’s less chance of finding someone alive,” he said, adding “we’re pulling out bodies.”
Yeti Airlines spokesman Sudarshan Bartola said there were 68 passengers and four crew members on board the plane that crashed between the old airport and Pokhara International Airport.
The ill-fated plane was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Pictures and videos posted on social media platforms showed smoke billowing from the crash site.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency meeting after the accident.
