Satish Shah responds appropriately to racist slur at UK’s Heathrow airport

On Twitter, the “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” actor revealed that he overheard some officials at the airport struggling to believe how he could afford a first-class ticket.

New Delhi: Popular actor Satish Shah recently shared an incident at Heathrow Airport in the UK where he overheard staff making racist comments about how he could afford a first-class ticket.

On Twitter, the “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” actor revealed that he overheard some officials at the airport struggling to believe how he could afford a first-class ticket. Satish didn’t hold back, though, and gave them an apt answer.

“When I overheard the Heathrow staff member quizzically asking his mate how they could afford first class, I replied with a proud smile ‘because we are Indian’,” he tweeted wrote.

The veteran actor’s tweet went viral on social media, with several netizens applauding the actor’s response. One netizen wrote: “Great reply! Great to see Indians giving back to them in their own language. We have now become a “third world country”! We are a superpower…”

Another wrote: “Well said sir! So proud of you guys, definitely time to show the world that we are the 5th largest economy and as such, we deserve the best in every area.”

“He was amazed, probably because they plundered us for 200 years and took $45 trillion of wealth from India. Can N Indians still afford first class? It’s strange to them…” Three people wrote.
