Congressional leaders say the Yatra has received an overwhelming public response and has gotten better as it has traveled from state to state.

During the pilgrimage, Gandhi said he learned a lot while talking to farmers, small shopkeepers, laborers and unemployed youth.
Punjab Congress Chairman Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Opposition Leader Partap Singh Bajwa, Haryana Congress Chairman Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and others accompanied Gandhi on the pilgrimage.
Before the Punjabi leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra begins, Gandhi descendants pay homage to Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib earlier.
