His Excellency Fatehgarh: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of spreading fear and hatred in the country, despite his assertion that India stands for “brotherhood, unity and respect” which was how his “Bharat Jodh pilgrimage” was “successful”. s reason.
Gandhi addressed the people of Sirhind here before starting the Punjabi leg of the Yatra.
“A climate of hate has spread in the country. BJP and RSS people are dividing the country, comparing one religion with another, one caste with another, one language with another… They destroy the mood of the country,” he claimed.
So we think the country needs to go another way, which is love, unity and brotherhood, and that’s why we started this pilgrimage, he said.
Congressional leaders say the Yatra has received an overwhelming public response and has gotten better as it has traveled from state to state.
“There’s a reason for this – BJP people spreading hate, fear and violence, that’s not the way of this country, nor its history. This country is one of brotherhood, unity and respect. That’s why this Yatra is successful, “He said.
During the pilgrimage, Gandhi said he learned a lot while talking to farmers, small shopkeepers, laborers and unemployed youth.
Punjab Congress Chairman Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Opposition Leader Partap Singh Bajwa, Haryana Congress Chairman Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and others accompanied Gandhi on the pilgrimage.
Before the Punjabi leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra begins, Gandhi descendants pay homage to Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib earlier.
He wore a hijab and a half-sleeve T-shirt to the place of worship.
